On my 2011 Equinox, The high beam headlights are activated by pushing the lever forward.  So far so good, but to turn them off, I have to push FORWARD again.

According to my manual

Quote
Push the run/lane change lever away from you to turn the high beams on.

Pull the lever toward you to return to low beams.

The Push-Push I'm seeing on my vehicle  is unlike most other cars on the road - I drive lots of rentals.   The first time I tried this, I was on the road, and luckily figured it out before blinding the oncoming driver.     Which is correct - the way it actually is working, or as described in the manual?   Everything feels correct, and not like there is a malfunction.

With the fog lights, I don't use my high beams much but I *think* I can turn them off by pushing forward again or pulling back. I think it's cool that the high beam switch isn't a mechanical switch like every other car I have driven.
