We got one rock chip about three weeks ago.  It was in the top right hand corner.  When I moved it out of the garage on Saturday it had a crack about 3' long across the windshield.  My wife cried.  I have a zero deductible so it will get replaced on Wednesday.

Ugh that sucks!!  I almost cried too, so I understand where your wife is coming from!  On my old car I would put clear nail polish on the crack so it wouldn't spread.  Worked everytime!  I didn't do this on the 'Nox though, a little paranoid, plus the guy needs to do his thing with it and I don't wanna get anything in his way.  Thank god it's getting fixed tomorrow!

Wow !  You must be using epoxy-based nail polish !!!  Hard to argue with success, though.

Haha I don't know.  It was a clear polish that you put on to keep the colored polish on so it doesn't chip...I don't use it on my nails anymore, but back in the day! haha.  Everyone is always surprised when I share that  little trick with them Smiley.

FedorekC i totally agree with you on the crap roads and debris up here. As a fellow Edmontonian i really dislike the road treatment up here.  I took a rock (no pit or crack thankfully) 2 days after taking delivery of my terrain.  And the weather this year... unghhh i got hailed on the afternoon my uncle delivered the Terrain to me. again no damage that i can see but so aggravating.  I try to keep mine clean so i am in the same boat about getting it all cleaned up so it can get rained on. Sad happens more often than not lol.

Cameron - at least we aren't alone in our frustration!  You sound alot more calm than I feel though.  Oh lord, a rock after two days??  Good thing it didn't leave anything for you to swear at haha.  I was very impressed that I went almost a whole month with good luck in that department.  The day we were driving back from BC, we were like 10 minutes from home on Gateway Blvd and as I was changing lanes I heard a big crack!  I didn't see where it came from, but I was frantically searching for a mark and couldn't see one.  Then after I got the one that was like a double crack, I took it in to the shop and gave it a nice rub down and I saw two little puncture marks where the first one had hit  Angry Oh well.  They are getting fixed today at noon Smiley can't wait!

Our stories sound quite familiar! It hailed the day yours was delivered to you, and the day I went to pick mine up, I was racing to the dealer so that I could see it in the sunshine, but it was all cloudy and then the wind came up and it was blowing dust everywhere!  Just makes me want to pout/be angry haha.  It's just so much nicer to drive around in a beautifully polished vehicle, so I understand wanting to keep it clean.  Who wants to be walking out to a dirty car in the parking lot!  I like it to welcome me with it's sparkle  Cheesy  It seriously feels like we are living in Vancouver this year with all this rain.  Here's to hoping August is a better, cleaner month  Smiley

Hehe no kidding, im hoping august smartens up a bit.

Im still waiting for my first door ding... its gotta happen soon right? just about to hit 2000km.
Very very surprised it hasn't happened already, that said i still give it the walk around every time i park it somewhere other than my driveway.

And i wouldn't say im calm about it, i wasn't to impressed at the time haha. I think my cubicle got turned a little blue at work.  Im another one of those super anal about my cars kinda guy.  Im trying to break the habit on the Terrain, but its tough.  I just wish it would stop raining on average 3 hours after i wash it.

Ohh yes, the infamous door ding.  I am with you on that one.  I am almost at 3500kms and I always try to park right in the middle of the lines, or in a corner stall so I can cozy up to the curb and only have a chance of dings on one side.  I do the full walk around and I also park where I can watch people get in and out of their cars if they park next to me...haha it sounds so evil, but I am watching you!!  It's really difficult at work to avoid people...but my dad and I have a deal worked out now that he's started working here this summer because he has a 2010 Camaro.  He has a spot picked out and always parks there, so he parks as close as he can to the right side of the line and then I park on the side that he is closest to the line on and I also park close to the line, that way we know we won't ding each other's doors and we both have plenty of room on the other sides!!

Well I thought the weather was looking up yesterday and my 'Nox would stay shiny for one more day, but it went and sprinkled! So now it's all dusty with water spots...still not really dirty so I guess it's not that bad, but it has lasted longer than 3 hours! Haha.  Too bad you can't buy bubbles to put around your car to protect it from all elements hey lol.

I never TRULY understood the super anal about my cars guy (my bf is one of them) until now haha.  Now I'm a super anal about my cars GIRL lol.  At least we have a safe place to vent our feelings  Cheesy

Can it be repaired with that clear epoxy stuff they shoot in to fix bigger chips. I have had a few windshields fixed that way but they were big dings. Check with a auto glass repair shop. The insurance waived my deductible so it was a free repair. Smiley

just a note... Make sure they replace any windshield with acustic glass if that is what was on there in the first place.. I'd try to get OEM glass if at all possible

I agree! Don't let them take any shortcuts if it has to be replaced.

Are you asking or stating? lol.  They filled mine with some clear stuff, and he had some contraption on the bigger one...they didn't completely disappear, but I can feel confident knowing they are filled.  Before he even did anything he told me that they are so small he wouldn't be able to do a whole lot anyway.  He described them as being more like little "pits' that just barely penetrated past the top layer.  So they aren't full blown chips or cracks I guess.  I was going to check with insurance, but my bf knew the guy so he did it for free anyway Smiley.
