New Here. Hi all!!

Hey everyone. Hope all is well. I'm new here and am looking for some help.

I own a 2016 Equinox L. I love it and am making it my own. One thing I am a little upset about is it doesn't have the lower DRL/Fog Lights. Has anyone here removed the insert and installed the Fog Light assembly? I've been told mixed stories on wether they will be coming out with an aftermarket assembly but no one at my local GM dealership can tell me definitely. Does anyone here have the inside story?

I hope to speak to you all on this forum. It looks quite informative and fun.

Thanks for taking the time in reading my post.

Re: New Here. Hi all!!

Those arnt fog lights on the 2016. They are the day time running lights. Base trim level doesnt have them.

Those lights get mistaken for fog lights bc of where they are on the car, but they are just the LED day time running lights.

Re: New Here. Hi all!!

I think Nick is correct. Those are not technically fog lights.
However, people are calling them that.
I could be wrong.

This video should be very helpful to you on install aftermarket lights. He calls them fog lights too.

Re: New Here. Hi all!!

I put the fog lights in my 2012, but I have not wired them up yet. Not sure about the 2016, but on the 2014-15 they made a kit that also included the replacement turn signal stall, since that is where the OEM fog light control is. On yours, if you just want the look,, I would just figure out what the part numbers are and swap Em in.

2015 was the last year of the fog lights, the fog lights are round. The 2016 to 2017 have the rectangular LED day time running lights where the fogs use to be.

Not quite correct. The LED day time running lights are along the top of the rectangular light assembly with fog lights in the lower portion, at least on my 16 LTZ.
