2013 Equinox wiper failure

Just was driving past my Chevy dealer when the wipers quit working in the rain. Went back to dealer and Service had it fixed in about 30 minutes. They said a module PN 84241847 (description 10.150) and a filler plug 15259076 was replaced for the campaign number 25302. So being the curious type I asked the service writer was this part related to the recall and he responded yes. I went home and checked to see what was replaced according to GM parts info. Nowhere do I find a wiper transmission assembly with those part numbers. So I am wondering if anyone here knows what that "module" is that was replaced as there are no pictures or description of it that I can find.

Re: 2013 Equinox wiper failure

I asked this question as well. Apparently even though it said on my receipt they do not touch the transmission at all. The module is for the transmission though I guess but it is only replaced if found to be corroded. I do believe it says it is replaced on all of the receipts though. My service writer was able to show me their bulletin on what is replaced and how they perform the service he did show it to me rather unwillingly after they messed up the wiper location I may add but that is a different story.

I got the notice from GM that the parts are now available..so I went to the dealer and they have ordered them for me. I am not having any wiper troubles with our 2013 as it is normally garaged and Aridzona is quite dry.

Re: 2013 Equinox wiper failure

I received the notice as well for my 2013. It says they'll replace the module, plug up one hole, and drill another. "It should only take 35 min" it says lol I got a good laugh at that one.

Re: 2013 Equinox wiper failure

ok, correction...
She called-- and they had no open slots....
but that didnt matter-- as they have to order the parts.
So they looked her up in the system- and ordered the pars.

I removed the screw from the tire.
I used soap on the hole--- No leak.....

Laugh not oh doubting one! I actually had my wipers fail and already had my recall notice in the car. Called the dealer the next morning, they said they had the parts in stock and bring it right over. They told me 30 minutes (after they get a guy free) which I doubted and told them I would go for breakfast and come back. I was just getting my food at my table when they called and asked where I was, the car was done!

According to invoice I got a whole new transmission/motor assembly, it is all one unit they say. Good news for those with extended warranties as they usually only cover the wiper motor. Ran into that with 2000 Venture, warranty did not cover because they were separate. Cost of $166 CAD shown, I keep wanting to look up that part number to see what the real cost would be for us to buy.

PFFFTTT

So my wife called the dealer to inquire about the status of the parts.......

they looked it up- and she was not in the system.
She told them she had called etc and was told the parts were on order........
they asked who she talked to............

wife said- it was lady 'XYZ'... and by the sound of it-- she was probably drunk...

they said- ohhh, yeah, shes no longer with us, she was let go..........

so---- reorder again.
